Module Ten

Wikis look like they could be a good tool to use in the classroom, especially for sharing information and ideas that they have learnt. I loved the Bloom's Digital activities and think that the links are fabulous!

I posted my final reflection today and couldn't get onto the wiki to be a writer even though I was signed in. So I added a new thread at the bottom to post my reflection (Look how much completing Web 2.0 has improved my problem solving skills!).

Module Nine
This week I have also explored scootle.com. We have alreasdy explored this website with our school and previously set up accounts and passwords. I think this is an excellent website because there are many interactive activities for our students to complete.
I am also a daily facebook user and have previously explored twitter. I use facebook to share photos, information, play games and socialise with my friends. I even have a video on my facebook page of when I was dancing in Syria (on a holiday in 2007).
Although I haven't learnt anything new in this module, I have had a great time refreshing and exploring new websites!
Module Eight

Today I learnt about RSS (Rich Site Summary), which I found useful to keep track of other people's blogs and information. I especially enjoyed finding the Sydney Morning Herald page and subscribing to this. It had a great article on a bird who dropped a piece of baguette into a $6.5million project to decipher the big bang theory!

I have added a link to Google Reader through my iGoogle page so I can easily access my page!

Module Seven

I have now gone on to delicious.com and have begun to create my online community. I have added many people to my delcious account and have found some websites. Online communities are fanatstic for sharing websites in a variety of KLAs for different resources. I like that I can find a variety of different things that my colleagues have already found useful!

Module Six

So after two frustrating days I finally managed to complete Module Six. Due to a few difficulties I have just managed to save my bubbl.us mind map on my blog. I think this is an excellent brainstorming tool that can be used for most subjects. It is an easy and stright forward tool to use. I also discovered the fun poster-making program of glogstar. It has some great animations and tools that could be great for a variety of things, including creating advertisments.

I hope next week is less of a hassle!

Module 5

Module Five
This week we learnt about podcasting and vodcasting. I successfully embedded a vodcast into my blog of some muppets singing the manamana song. They are very cute and furry! I could use digital storytelling in my classroom in many ways.
During Term Four my Year Two class are learning about the Text Type Narrative. Students could easily record podcasts using headsets and micorphones to orally story tell. They could also view teacher selected videos from our Myclasses page. Students could view photographs and narrate their own stories. Currently during guided reading sessions my class are already using the headsets to listen to online stories, so they will be prepared for when I am confident to give them some vod and podcasts!

Module Four
This week we attempted to use Google Docs, however our school's server wouldn't allow us to access this page due to filter restrictions. Therefore, we skipped ahead to Module Four, ready to go back to Module Three next week.
During Module Four I have learnt to create a Flikr account and upload images with descriptions. I also had the oppurtunity to add various other features such as icons and videos. I will use flickr.com and other websites such as http://www.smartcopying.edu.au/ to address copyfright issues when using photographs.
I have also learnt to insert a photo and link it to flickr.com as I have inserted below.

Module Two

Module Two

During Module Two I have discovered what blogs are and how to create a new blog. I have successfully added a picture and used a variety of formatting layouts. I have learnt how to search for new blogs and blogs that I can add to. Blogs have the potential to be used in my classroom as journalling tools when discovering new concepts. I think this would be a good extension of the MyClasses online journalling tool.

Module One

Module One
During Module One I learnt how to create an iGoogle account. I was able to customize the layout of the page to suit my own needs. I added gadgets to my page which allow me to use a variety of applications on a daily basis. Some of the gadgets I included were: horoscopes, quote of the day, Pacman game, daily weather and news. I have set this as my homepage and am able to instantly see the weather and date!
